About the Game
Ray in Sonic 1 is a fan-made mod of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game that allows players to play as Ray the Flying Squirrel from Sega's classic arcade game, Sonic the Hedgehog 3. In this mod, Ray replaces Sonic as the protagonist, and players must navigate through the game's levels using Ray's unique abilities.
Ray has the ability to glide through the air by holding down the jump button, allowing players to reach areas that were previously inaccessible in the original game. He can also gain altitude by repeatedly tapping the jump button while in the air, allowing for longer glides and access to even higher platforms.
The game's levels have also been slightly modified to accommodate Ray's abilities. Some areas have been redesigned to include more vertical space, while others feature obstacles that require the use of Ray's gliding ability to progress.
In addition to his gliding ability, Ray can also perform a spin attack by jumping and pressing the attack button, similar to Sonic's signature move. This allows Ray to defeat enemies and break through obstacles in his path.
