There are many types of solitaire card games, but they mostly fall into two categories: Klondike solitaires and Patience solitaires.
Freecell features 52 cards placed in eight columns of four cards each. The object of the game is to move all cards to the four foundation piles at the top right of the screen by moving them one at a time into empty cells on top of other cards. Once a card is moved, it cannot be moved back again.
Each time a move is made, a new card appears at the bottom left of your screen (the waste pile). You can only play one card from your hand at a time, so you have to plan ahead carefully before making each move. When no more moves can be made, you win!
