What are the GTA Games?
GTA games are a series of open world action-adventure video games, which started in 1997. The series is developed and published by Rockstar Games. From a top-down perspective, GTA lets you play as one of three criminals trying to escape from different parts of the city or one of four law enforcement officers trying to capture them. You start with a limited amount of ammunition and health, but you can collect more throughout the levels by stealing it from your enemies.
Grand Theft Auto games offers hours of criminal adventures. The first in the series takes you to Liberty City where you’ll take on the role of maverick criminal Tommy Vercetti who has just been released after two years in prison and is sent on a mission to kidnap a lawyer’s wife. Grand Theft Auto 1
Grand Theft Auto is a video game franchise created by David Jones and Mike Dailly, developed by DMA Design (later Rockstar North) and published by Rockstar Games. The name of the series references the term used in the USA for motor vehicle theft. The player takes on the role of a criminal who can roam freely around the game’s world, which may encompass several cities. There is no linear gameplay; instead, players can choose to follow marked mission objectives or simply roam the open world. Throughout the course of the game, players have access to a large variety of weapons and vehicles with which to partake in crime. These activities are optional and not required to complete the game’s story missions.
Grand Theft Auto 2
Grand Theft Auto 2 is a game designed around missions of crime and chaos. Players can engage in many different activities, including racing and car theft. The game has a total of 56 missions to accomplish, divided up into different crime syndicate factions. Gameplay also features a day-and-night cycle, as well as various other weather conditions including rain and snow storms. The game takes place within the fictional city of Anywhere City in a modern crime-ridden urban environment, with police forces attempting to arrest the player character at all moments. The game features eluding law enforcement as well as completing single story missions. Game is about running over pedestrians, blowing up cars and stealing military weaponry. Grand Theft Auto III
The third installment in the Grand Theft Auto series, Grand Theft Auto III is set in Liberty City, a fictionalized version of New York. The game introduced elements such as obtaining police bribes and taking one’s chances with a low-performance sports car in street racing using an arcade racing format. Grand Theft Auto III was critically acclaimed and received multiple Game of the Year awards, particularly for its immersive open world design.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
GTA Vice City is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. The player controls Tommy Vercetti, a thug who returns to his hometown of Vice City to seek revenge after his gang betrayed him. He eventually becomes entangled in a conflict between two rival gangs as well as the corrupt police force and the Haitian immigrant population.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, players assume the role of a criminal named CJ who has been released from jail. Due to his family being upset with his lifestyle, he decides to return to Los Santos, the city he grew up in. After getting a gang-related tattoo he returns home but finds no one living there which leads him to live with his cousins. He is forced out of their house shortly afterwards in an event that is seemingly orchestrated by an unknown group that are very interested in C.J.’s return. Embittered by this and seeking revenge, he embarks on a journey throughout Los Santos that puts him into contact with numerous gangs and people who wish them harm or good will. The game is set within the fictional U.S. state of San Andreas, which is based on several U.S. states, including California, Nevada and Arizona.
Grand Theft Auto IV
If you are looking for an action game with an extensive plot, then Grand Theft Auto IV is a great choice. You control Niko Bellic as he tries to escape his past and make a fresh start in America. The 3D graphics are very good and the controls are intuitive once you get used to them.
Grand Theft Auto IV takes place in Liberty City. This fictional city is based on New York City, with some neighbourhoods resembling parts of Brooklyn. You play as Niko Bellic and you meet many other characters as you progress through the game. In addition to trying to make a living, you have to perform criminal acts at various levels along the way. There are missions that involve stealing cars, robbing stores and killing people.
Grand Theft Auto V
GTA V is the fifth instalment in the popular Grand Theft Auto series. In this game, players can switch between three different characters (Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton and Trevor Philips) to do missions throughout Los Santos. Switching between characters offers a unique perspective on the world as some missions need specific skills or equipment to complete them.
Michael, Franklin and Trevor are three totally different criminals who in some way or another come together to pull off a heist. Michael is a former bank robber that faked his own death and retired to the west coast. Franklin is a young street hustler trying to find a way out of his dead-end neighborhood. Trevor lives in the desert, cooks meth, and loves to cause trouble any time he can. Set in the sunny skies of Los Santos, a sprawling metropolis full of eccentric characters and self-made men looking to make it big, players get to explore this vast world either by themselves or with their friends in up to three player co-op.
